Obtaining NOCs is a must for working within Railway Right-of-Way: RTA


Al Tayer: 5 meters off rail facilities set as Red Zone, 30 meters as Yellow Zone

Half a million dirham fine fixed against unauthorized works in the railway exclusive zone


Roads & Transport Authority – Mohammed Al Munji:
H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), called on consultants & contractors to comply with the regulations set for obtaining work permits within Railway Right-of-Way, as well as the technical stipulations set for working within the Red Zone stretching 5 meters off the edge of rail facilities, and the Yellow Zone stretching 30 meters off the edge of rail facilities. He highlighted the importance of protecting and ensuring the safety of rail tracks and facilities, adding that RTA would not hesitate to take punitive measures against offenders.

“The Executive Regulation of Order No (5)/2009 governing railway works in Dubai Emirate stipulated, in Article (59), the issuance of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from RTA Railway Right-of-Way Office whenever it is needed to carry out any activity or work that may expose the safety of rail facilities or rail operations to danger. Restricted activities that require obtaining NOCs include storage of cargo, movement or operation of automatic lifting machines and other mechanical lifting equipment, and excavation works as well as drilling of wells, seabed, canals, boreholes, and lagoons. It also includes boring of tunnels & subterranean wells, digging of trenches and bulldozing the soil surface, in addition to any acts of destruction and demolition, the use of explosives, fireworks & setting fires, scaffolding & setting other temporal structures, replacing power transmission lines, and other activities which Rail Agency opts to subject to monitoring within the protective zone of railway infrastructure. Such works have to be carried out in a controlled manner to reduce the level of risks directly impacting the safety of trains,” said Al Tayer.

He further added: “The Executive Regulation obliged all bodies intending to carry out works in the area adjacent to rail facilities to communicate with RTA Railway Right-of-Way Office to obtain the required NOCs before starting any work on the ground. All information required by the Office for the issuance of the NOC have to be submitted. There are five types of NOCs, namely: NOC to obtaining information, NOC to the initial design, NOC to the final design, NOC to the experimental excavation work, and NOC to construction works; each NOC will be valid for a period of 180 days. The Executive Regulation of Order No (5)/2009 governing railway works in Dubai Emirate imposes deterrent fines against offenders as Article (18) provided that the violation of carrying out works with the railway protective zone, whether planned or actually existing, before obtaining a prior NOC from the RTA carries a fine of half a million dirham, besides halting all works until the offence is removed. The Regulation entitles the RTA to stop anybody from practicing or attempting to practice any activity prohibited activity in any rail protective zone without obtaining a prior NOC”.

RTA Chairman of the Board and Executive Director stated that RTA had confirmed the booking of paths of the metro tunnels beneath Dubai Creek through the applicable systems at Planning & Survey Department, the Dubai Municipality, and made necessary coordination with Dubai Customs to control company activities within the Dubai Creek, particularly near the metro tunnels.
“RTA will shortly hold a workshop to enlighten contractors & consultants about the Railway Right-of-Way and the Executive Regulation, and explain the stipulations and guidelines set for working within the Railway Right-of-Way. RTA will also intensify the inspection campaigns round-the-clock on all metro tracks on both the Red and Green Lines,” added Al Tayer in a final remark.

Leo Sterling, UAE’s premier select property portfolio manager, has revealed that it expects properties in Dubai to remain competitive primarily because of the well-established business, leisure and home living amenities that are already in place in the emirate. The gradual influx of fresh supply within the next two years are also expected to sustain the interest of investor and property buyers, who will be looking to take advantage of buying property that is still in its lowest price bracket.

Leo Sterling noted that it is now seeing a significant increase in the number of enquiries from regional and international investors who are being attracted by the competitive prices and the emirate's dynamic cosmopolitan setting. In this regard, Leo Sterling emphasised that the ongoing trend in the property market is for investors to look for the lowest-priced ready properties as opposed to buying off-plan, which was prevalent prior to the onset of the global financial crisis in 2008.

No one expects prices to jump to where they were in 2008, but a slow steady pace that will control market prices and sustain a healthier market for some years to come," concluded Martorano.

Los colores pasteles con los que usualmente decoraban las habitaciones de los bebés ahora son asunto del pasado.
Hoy en día los gustos varían y las opciones abundan en el mercado, sin embargo existen ciertas indicaciones que deberías considerar antes de aventurarte en esta hermosa tarea.

Primero que nada cerciórate de iluminar la habitación sin excederte ni limitar la luz que tu pequeño necesita.

Podrías empezar con un foco en el centro del techo, y adicionalmente colocar una lámpara con luz tenue para observar durante la noche los movimientos de tu bebé sin molestar su sueño, e incluso te servirá cuando lo amamantes.

Las persianas son preferidas en reemplazo de las cortinas porque además de impedir el ingreso de la luz en el día, contribuyen en la limpieza, son fáciles de asear y es menos probable que tu pequeño sufra de alergias por el contacto con el polvo.

Respecto a los colores de la habitación, si bien pueden ser tonalidades suaves es posible colocar colores menos tradicionales como el beis o el lila. Si empleas coloraciones claras quizá te guste la idea de matizarlos con tonos oscuros (siempre guardando la simetría del buen gusto) para estimular los sentidos de tu bebé y darle mayor dinamismo al ambiente.

Utiliza lo esencial para mantener cómodo a tu bebé. En la habitación debes tener una cuna, un cambiador y un armario; conforme vaya creciendo crea su salita de juegos (mesita con silla), e incluye una especie de baúl donde tu niño guarde sus juguetes.

La tendencia vintage en decoración consiste en ambientar espacios empleando objetos que petenecen al pasado en comunión con objetos actuales. Entre los objetos que más destacan en este estilo están los muebles, sofás, sillas, sillones, mesas, jarrones, entre otros.

En la cocina se pueden decorar colocando electrodomésticos que tengan la apariencia de pasadas épocas, otra opción es conseguir reposteros de estilo clásico, las cortinas deben tener diseño clásicos, para que de una apariencia del pasado.

En el dormitorio se puede colocar una cama con base de la época de Luis XV, acompañado de unas almohadas, cojines, sábanas y edredón actuales.

En la piecera de la cama se puede ubicar un baúl donde se guarde colchas , cojines, sábanas, entre otros; sobre el tocador de la habitación se puede colocar botellitas de estilo clásico.

Para logra la ambientación vintage es importante saber armonizar lo arcaico o clásico con las nuevas tendencias en decoración. Se debe seleccionar una época determinada en relación a los muebles y otros que se van a usar. Otra sugerencia es que no debe exagerarse, simplemente es hallar la armonía entre lo contemporáneo y lo pasado.

Los tipos de parquet

Los suelos de parquet podemos clasificarlos en diferentes tipos según el material utilizado y la forma de instalarlo.

Según el material encontramos el parquet de madera natural y el parquet sintético:

Parquet de madera natural

Formado por tablillas de madera natural. Se trata de un pavimiento compuesto de tablillas con tres capas de madera pegada, aúnque podemos encontrar el parquet formado por una tablilla de madera maciza.

El grosor de cada tablilla ronda en los 15 mm, do los cuales unos 4mm corresponden a la capa superior que posteriormente será lijada y / o pulida.

Parquet sintético o laminado

Está formado por láminas de fibras de madera prensadas sobre las cuales se encuentra pegada una capa decorativa imitando la madera. Sobre una lámina de madera de alta densidad se pega una reproducción fotográfica con motivos decorativos que imitan las maderas de diferentes tipos.

Sobre ésta se coloca una capa de resinas protectoras altamente resistentes a los golpes, el desgaste por el uso diario, e incluso a las quemaduras.

Dependiendo de la calidad del laminado sintético el pavimiento será más o menos resistente a los factores externos que suelen dañar el suelo. Existen modelos de PVC utilizados para zonas húmedas.

Las láminas se unen con el sistema clic que permite que las uniones queden muy fuertes y resistentes al paso de los años. Su instalación es rápida, sencilla y limpia.

De acuerdo a la forma de instalarlo encontramos el parquet encolado y el parquet flotante:

Parquet encolado

Es un sistema tradicionbal que consiste en encolar todas y cada una de las tablillas al suelo. Por este motivo es una instalación más lenta pero brinda un acabado de mayor calidad.

El encolado se hace aplicando en forma continua una capa de cola utilizando una espátula en el suelo donde se colocará el parquet. Es ideal para los parquet formados por tablillas pequeñas.

Parquet flotante

Muy en boga en la actualidad, es muy popular por su fácil instalación y mantenimiento además de la conveniencia económica.

Viene barnizada de fábrica lo que nos facilita el trabajo en su acabado final. Está compuesto por una capa de madera noble de 3 o 4 mm y su contracara es de madera maciza (pino o abeto).

Sobre el antiguo pavimiento se coloca una espuma que tiene facultades aislantes acústicas y contra humedad. Se puede instalar sobre suelos con calefacción incorporada.

La tarima flota sobre el antiguo pavimento y sobre la espuma aislante, y de ahí el termino flotante. Las diferentes lamas se encajan entre sí , así que el suelo no se encuentra fijado ni al suelo, ni a las paredes.

Renueva tus cojines

¿Sabías que con muy pocos elementos e invirtiendo muy poco dinero puedes darle un aspecto nuevo a un ambiente o un espacio de la casa? ¡Así es!

No es necesario entrar en enormes gastos, ni salir corriendo a comprar, ni ser un especialista en bricolage para renovar algún ambiente o espacio de nuestra casa. Sólo se necesita un poco de imaginación.

En este caso, la idea es sumamente fácil y efectiva: renovar tus cojines simplemente con botones y distintos apliques. ¿Qué te parece la idea?

Sólo deberás seguir los siguientes pasos para renovar tus cojines:

* Elegir los cojines que renovarás y determinar qué apliques querrás ponerle; pueden ser botones, trozos de telas, lentejuelas, flores de tela, etcétera.

* Adquirir los apliques que combinen con el cojín. Con “combinar” no me refiero sólo a que estén en la gama del color del cojín, ya que pueden contrastar y quedar también muy bien.

* Antes de comprar, busca en tu casa qué apliques podrías utilizar para renovar tus cojines.

El resto es muy simple. No hace falta que sepas coser para aplicar botones o flores a un cojín.

Existen efectivos y económicos pegamentos para tela que son realmente fáciles de usar y de secado rápido… ¡ideal para impacientes!

Si quieres, puedes realizar un dibujo con los apliques - como ves en los cojines de la fotografía - o también aplicarlos directamente de manera desordenada, que también quedarán bien.

There is nothing I love more than wandering around a book store searching for a story that is as compelling as its cover and Parisians: An Adventure History of Paris is one of my new favorite finds. Some of the Parisians are famous such as Marie Antoinette and Charles de Gaulle while others could be better described as infamous but all the stories center around the most important character, the city itself. The architecture and monuments and newly created Haussmann streets have a profound effect on all the Parisians profiled including Proust and Zola. Definitely pick it up! C'est magnifique!

Muchos tenemos puertas de cristal en casa, sobre todo para las terrazas, sin embargo tenemos que reconocer que aunque buena opción para permitir el paso de la luz y comunicar el interior con el exterior son bastante sosas.

Casali, con su nueva colección de puertas de cristal decoradas soluciona ese problema, claro que no son para todos los bolsillos.

Están a caballo entre el diseño y el arte.

Están decoradas con motivos simples, casi siempre lineales, hechos con acero inoxidable y vidrio coloreado, hay una gran variedad de motivos, estoy segura de que alguno de los que veis abajo os gustarán. En la galería de abajo tenéis muchos ejemplos que como veis van desde las más coloreadas para espacios jóvenes a otras más sobrias para salones más clásicos.


Personalmente me gustan mucho para los pisos de estilo moderno o pisos pequeños donde no podemos poner demasiadas piezas de decoración, con estas puertas tendremos suficiente para cualquier salón con vistas a la terraza.
